How to Make a Vulcan Lyre

After I finish making my reenactment lyre, I will use the extra plywood to construct this beautiful creation. Then I can use it for filking, which would be so appropriate. Besides, it is a beautiful instrument:

Behind the scenes from Amok Time. When I first saw this photo, I thought that the random Vulcan guard in the background wasn’t wearing pants. XD

I don’t know what the context of this is, but it is awesome.

The split-fingered Vulcan salute from Star Trek is derived from an Orthodox Jewish ritual called the Blessing Hands, used to anoint congregations on holy days. Leonard Nimoy, whose grandfather was Orthodox, remembered the hand gesture from his childhood visits to the synagogue with his grandfather and borrowed it for his role as Mr. Spock.

A random TOS fact for you all.

More Star Trek Bloopers…

"Have no fear… Sargon is here."

"If they don’t move out on cue — Screw them!"

"And Captain, you’re in good hands with tribble."

"There’s a well known saying - or is it a myth? - that Vulcans are incapable of lying.""It is no myth.""Then tell me truthfully now, by your honor as a Vulcan, what was your mission?""I reserve the privilege of speaking only when it will not violate my honor as a Vulcan.""It is unworthy of a Vulcan to resort to subterfuge.""You are being clever, Commander. That is unworthy of a Romulan."Buuuuuuuurn…

"I say now, and for the record, that Captain Kirk ordered the Enterprise across the Neutral Zone on his own initiative and his craving for glory." - Spock

Spock is a badass. ‘Nough said.

Aaaand… More of The Enterprise Incident

Flirting with Spock… Silly Romulan Commander.

And it’s Romulan Kirk!

You know, I feel bad for her… She’s trying so hard, but she just doesn’t see what she’s walking into.

Sideburns!

More photo-spam to come.

Enterprise Incident Ctd.

*heartbreak*

Also… “Military secrets are the most fleeting of all. I hope that you and I exchanged something more permanent.” - Spock. Aaaawww….

This episode is full of so much wonderfulness. I forgot to screencap the rest, but yeah… I think I got some pretty good moments in my last post.

I am a bleeding heart sappy romantic, and I do not care in the slightest.
